In the June 2009 A-level examinations he was awarded a Distinction in the Advanced Extension Award Mathematics paper together with an Outstanding grade in the STEP Mathematics I paper. He also achieved a grade A pass at AS-level in Further Mathematics (Additional).
He scored 2397/2700 marks and a total of 620 UCAS points.
He was awarded a Bronze medal in the 2008-2009 Chemistry Olympiad, a Bronze II medal in the 2009-2010 Physics Olympiad (round 2) and a Gold medal in the Mathematics Challenge.
