Abbey College Cambridge has been named as an Institute for Research in Schools (IRIS) Partner School. IRIS is a charitable foundation with a mission to involve students in real scientific projects by bringing university and industrial experts into schools. The Institutes trustees include Professor Stephen Rose of Imperial College and the University of Oxford, and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz.
The institute conducts research across all three Abbey Cambridge Science subjects ; Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The first IRIS projects that our students will be involved with will be in the area of genome sequencing.
