DLD College London students celebrated their graduation at the seventh annual Summer Ball this week, held at the glamourous Underglobe situated beneath the world famous Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre on the bank of the River Thames.
On entering our impeccably dressed students descended down a grand staircase into the venue, where they were greeted with a drinks reception, before sitting down for a delicious two course meal followed by sweet treats from a colourful ‘candy table’. Then they danced the night away to Function Band, a soul and pop group who put on an exciting performance of fresh new music and floor filling classics.
There was also a vintage pop-up photographic studio for student to enjoy throughout the evening. Beautifully framed with a picket fence and ivy all around and fun props, students had unlimited photographs to take home with them as memories of the evening and their times together. Students also posed for more snapshots in front of the 4 foot tall illuminated letters spelling out ‘DLD’.
In keeping with tradition the prestigious title of Prom King and Queen were announced and the winners crowned and a Valedictorian announced. Two of our boarding students Adam and Ana were regally appointed, whilst Betty was named DLD College Valedictorian for 2018.
Principal, Irfan Latif said “The Summer Ball was an outstanding event held at the world famous venue which is steeped in history and tradition. Our students have worked exceptionally hard throughout the year and their dedication to develop themselves is evident. It is important that we offer them the opportunity to come together to celebrate and reflect on this, before the final push towards their all-important exams this summer. The students were well behaved, respectful and excellent ambassadors for the College.”
