Abbey College Manchester has launched a brand new course for budding footballers. ‘Academic Studies with Football Training’ offers students with a passion for football the opportunity to study A-Level or the Combined Studies Programme alongside receiving professional quality football training. Currently only available to male students aged 16 or over, the college plans to extend the programme to female students very soon.
Students will attend science or business focused academic classes during morning sessions, followed by football training sessions after lunch. Training will be taken by experienced UEFA qualified coaches including some ex-professional players. Students will experience a wide range of invaluable opportunities including visits to professianl stdiums and training grounds, guest coaching sessions from industry professionals and showcase events attended by professional scouts.
Abbey College Manchester understands the importance of giving our students the best possible education, including those wishing to pursue their sporting ambitions, and we are incredibly excited to launch this innovative course. The Academic Studies with Football Training will provide a unique opportunity for our students to try and achieve their sporting dreams of which could lead to them playing football professionally or semi-professionally, while at the same time gaining academic qualifications for entry to top universities should they be unable to reach that lofty goal.
