Abbey College Manchester Celebrate Student Achievement

Abbey College Manchester celebrated an exceptional year of student achievement at their annual graduation and award ceremony this week. The event was held at the iconic Radisson Blu hotel. Principal Liz Elam presented all the students with their completion of studies certificates, as well as a number of special awards including:

    • Student of the Year
    • Gold Standard awards for A-Level and International Foundation Programme
    • Attainment
    • Resilience
    • Perseverance
    • Sport
    • Contribution to the college community

This year’s ceremony saw the introduction of a new, special award called the Jane Barraclough Award, created in recognition of the reverend of the Unitarian Chapel on Cross Street, and is awarded to the student who has made an exceptional contribution to the college community and has been instrumental in promoting the links and the relationship between the college and the chapel.

Guests included parents, guardians, friends and staff – the Friends of Abbey College Manchester – and they were all treated to an array of musical numbers as our brilliant pianists, vocalists and guitarists performed a variety of traditional songs from all over the globe.

It was wonderful to see so much support for our students at the ceremony, as it is the last occasion where all of Abbey College Manchester can come together as a college community and celebrate our exceptional Class of 2018. We are so very proud of them and the success of the this year and this events confirms our college motto of “Achieving Success Together”.
