Last week saw the first ever Abbey College Cambridge Year 12 Maths Team Challenge. Students were given the opportunity to tackle a wide variety of challenging mathematical activities, all the while improving their communication and teamwork skills.
There were seven teams made up of Maths and Further Maths students, and each team spent two hours building towers, tackling mathematical problems, and completing a cross number challenge. It was taken very serious by students and competition was fierce. At the end of the challegne two teams were eliminated, leaving five teams to progrss to the semi-final which is going to be held in the new year.
The Year 12 Maths Challenge was extremely popular with all the students and Abbey College Cambridge plan to make this an annual event.
Abbey College Cambridge is part of the Abbey DLD Group of Colleges.
