Speak English Week 2019
Every year the annual Abbey College Cambridge ‘Speak English Week’ celebrations are something everyone at the college looks forward to. ‘Speak English Week’ is a week of fun activities designed to help and encourage students to improve their English language skills. This year the students got to learn about the spookier side of Cambridge and went on a special colleges ghost tour – presented by a real ghost no less! Students enjoyed a house points quiz in the hall – won by a very deserving Juno House, a creative arts competition, a magic show and a practical magic workshop. The week finished with the always popular poetry and creative writing competition where students from throughout the college showcase their own bold and spellbinding compositions. This year’s theme was based around the theme of ‘Dreams’.

Abbey Inspires is a programme of weekly evening lectures and activities delivered by our teachers and guest speakers. They are optional and often feature topics not covered within the traditional GCSE/A Level/IFP syllabus. I’ve included images via the download link showcasing some recent events to give you a flavour of what’s available to ACC students. If you want more information please contact me.
