Half-Term Medicine Boot Camp
A lot of our Abbey College Cambridge students were enjoying a well-earned half-term break this week, meanwhile our hard working budding doctors were attending a week long medicine boot camp organised by our natural sciences teachers. During the week they learned about the role of doctors, developed useful practical and application skills, and they heard from real doctors and former Abbey College Cambridge students who are now studying at medical school.
Video interviews with Abbey College Cambridge alumni Victoria and Ola who helped out during the week can be viewed on our college YouTube channel.
Some lucky Abbey College Cambridge students experienced a taste of Viking culture – and some extremely cold weather – durng a half term trip to Iceland this week. Over four days students explored Helsinki, the Reykjanes Peninsula, toured the Golden Circle and some very brave students even took a dip in the volcanically heated Blue Lagoon.
We organised a range of fun activities for students staying in our boarding over half-term, including music, baking, sushi making and ten pin bowling.
