Geoffrey joined DLD College London in January 2017 to embark on an intensive 18 month A Level course. Family relocation led to Geoffrey leaving his Australian college one year before he could complete his course. It is a testimony to his academic skills that he took the transition from Australia in his stride, quickly impressing us with his fresh approach to study, offering thoughtful insights with a characteristic modesty that disguised his real breadth of scholarship across the subject range.
Multi-talented, Geoffrey was fascinated by the inter-disciplinary nature of Economics, bringing a global perspective to his work. He chose to make the Effects of the Global Financial Crisis on Australia as the focus of his EPQ, the quality of his work indicated in his well-deserved A grade. His aptitude for Mathematics and English served to reinforce his success in Economics.
Geoffrey has brilliant interpersonal skills and quickly made friends with both fellow students and teachers alike. He was equally comfortable engaging in discussion with a top Australian Treasury economist and members of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. Geoffrey will undoubtedly flourish in his university studies. His A Level results of Mathematics A*, English Literature B and Economics A, have earned him a place to study Japanese Studies and Economics at SOAS University of London but he plans to return to Australia for his university education.
