GCSE有一年制、一年半制和两年制课程。入读学生年龄通常在14-16岁之间。学生最多学习9门课程，部分为必修课，部分为选修课。成绩区间为1分-9分（最高）。GCSE课程是通往英国大学深造的第一阶段学习。许多院校要求学生至少通过5门课程（成绩5分或以上）才能入学。5门课程通常包括英语和数学。
A-Level课程
适合16至19岁学生
标准课程时长2年，也提供较为短期的课程
下一阶段：大学
每年学费：26,305-33,200英镑
每年寄宿费: 14,350-28,850英镑
A Level有一年半制和两年制课程。入读学生年龄通常在16-19岁之间。学生学习3到4门课程。成绩区间为A*（最高）到E。A-Level成绩是最受英国大学认可的入学资质证明。
