Gertrude Kiggundu

Group Financial Controller  

Gertrude joined Abbey DLD Group of Colleges in September 2024 as the Group Financial Controller, where she is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring financial controls within the finance department.

She brings extensive expertise in financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, and risk management, working closely with senior leadership to translate strategic objectives into effective financial frameworks. With a strong analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail, Gertrude plays a key role in strengthening financial governance, enhancing financial transparency, and supporting sustainable organisational growth.

She is a trusted advisor to the executive team and Board and works closely with all three colleges to ensure robust financial compliance, governance, and policy adherence across day-to-day financial operations.

Gertrude holds a B Comm Honors degree, with specialisation in Accounting Services and is a  Chartered Accountant ( CA (SA)), having completed her training contract with Deloitte in South Africa before joining the EY Southampton office in 2015  as an external auditor. In 2018, she joined BDO as an external audit manager and transitioned into industry in 2020 to further broaden her commercial and operational expertise

Outside of work, Gertrude enjoys arts and crafts and spending time with her family.
