Abbey DLD Group of Colleges GCSE Results 2021

The Abbey DLD Group of Colleges are celebrating another impressive set of GCSE results in 2021.

40% of GCSEs taken by students across our three colleges achieved the top grades of 9 or 8, and over 90% of GCSEs were marked at grade 4 or above this year (the equivalent to grade C and higher under the old A-U grading system).

General Certificates of Secondary Education (GCSE) represent the first stage on the path to study at a UK university. Many institutions will ask for at least 5 GCSE passes for entry. Depending on the duration of studies, GCSE students will take between 6-8 subjects. GCSEs provide a great ‘grounding’, offering students a wide breadth of subjects, time to familiarise themselves with the UK education system and improve their English (English Language is a compulsory GCSE subject). GCSEs also provide a natural pathway to A Levels, and students who have taken them tend to perform better in higher level examinations.

We look forward to welcoming our GCSE graduates back to our colleges in September to continue their studies.
